Do I need a permit to install a greenhouse?+
Requirements vary by municipality — some don't require a permit for structures under a certain footprint or that aren't permanently foundationed, others do. Check with your local building department before installing; we can't give location-specific legal advice.
How long does shipping take?+
Shipping timelines vary by destination across Canada. You'll receive tracking information as soon as your order ships.
Can I install it myself, or do I need a contractor?+
Every kit is designed for two-person home assembly with basic tools — no welding or specialty equipment required. Most customers complete assembly in a weekend.
What tools do I need for assembly?+
A standard socket wrench set, a level, and a rubber mallet cover most of it. A full tool list is included with your assembly instructions.
What does the warranty actually cover?+
The frame carries a 10-year manufacturer warranty against structural defects. See our Shipping & Warranty page for full terms.
Can I upgrade or add accessories later?+
Yes — raised beds, shelving, plant supports, watering systems, and automatic vent openers are all designed to work with any size kit, even if you add them after your initial purchase.
Do you ship outside Canada?+
Right now we ship within Canada only.
How do you stop the inside from overheating or growing mold?+
This is the #1 complaint we see about cheaper greenhouse kits, and it almost always comes down to airflow, not the covering. Every size ships with 2 roof vents positioned at the ridge — opposite the rising heat — plus double doors at both gable ends that open independently. Both doors open on a hot day and you get real cross-ventilation, which is what actually prevents the stagnant, humid air that causes mold and mildew. On especially hot afternoons, prop both doors and vents open; in peak summer, a simple shade cloth over the roof panels helps too. If you want set-and-forget airflow, our wax-cylinder automatic vent openers (see accessories) push the roof vents open as the interior heats up, with no wiring.
What snow and wind load is the frame rated for?+
We don't publish a lab-tested kg/m² number, and we'd rather tell you that plainly than print a marketing figure that doesn't mean much without knowing how it was tested. What we can tell you: the 1mm galvanized steel, 60mm omega-profile frame with diagonal cross-bracing is the same structural spec sold into harsh Baltic and Northern European winters, bolted (not welded) at every joint so the zinc coating stays intact. For sites that see exceptional snow accumulation, clear the roof after major storms the same way you'd clear a shed roof.
Will the polycarbonate panels yellow or get brittle over time?+
UV degradation is the other common complaint with budget kits — cheap, uncoated polycarbonate can start yellowing within a few months and lets progressively less light through as it degrades. Ours is CE-certified and UV-stabilized specifically to resist that; the panels are also twin-wall (not single-layer), which holds up to hail and impact better than the thin corrugated sheets some budget kits use.
What if a part arrives damaged or missing?+
Every kit ships with numbered parts matched to numbered assembly steps, which makes it fast to spot a shortfall before you're halfway through a build. If anything arrives damaged or a part is missing, contact us with your order number and we'll get the replacement part out — this is a frame-warranty item, not something you pay to fix.
Why steel instead of an aluminum frame?+
Aluminum is lighter and common on cheaper kits, but it typically holds up 5-7 years before corrosion and fatigue become a problem, especially with snow-melt runoff. Galvanized steel — the same choice used across harsh-winter European greenhouses — is the difference between a kit you replace in a few years and one that's still standing in twenty.
